The new LGBT student focus group were not successful as a way of engaging student in short time span, when the ground work has not been laid. It should have been an area for development once the project was completed

Being an adult and with the majority of part time students traditional ways of engaging with students were not affective. We haven’t found a winning formula for this

Engaging in the classroom was underutilised – we were lucky to find one student who attended a course the programme manager became a major contributor to the project
- We had wanted to create two forums to meet once a term throughout the project, one for staff and one for students. The Student forum only met once and had 2 attendees and the staff forum only met once and had 8 attendees but interest from 26 staff. A meeting of 8 staff took place to discuss the collection of LGBT Data
